After these materials are received, you will be
contacted by telephone to set up your observation
of an experienced Social Pet Therapy team doing a
routine visit. This is your time to ask
questions and watch how another volunteer approaches
the residents and handles his or her animal during
the visit. After this Observation Visit,
a CAAA volunteer will contact you for your
first Evaluation Visit with your animal.
The Evaluator will accompany you and make any
suggestions to get the most out of your future
visits, both for your pet and for the elderly. Our
goal is to schedule your Observation and Evaluation
visits as soon as possible. Keep in mind,
however, that CAAA's Social Pet Therapy program is
100% administered by volunteers who have their own
pet therapy visits, plus work and family time
commitments. Under normal circumstances, you
will be contacted in approximately two weeks to
schedule your first observation.
Should you have any
questions, please call 602 258 3306 and
leave your name, telephone number, a good time to
reach you, and your question. Your call will be
returned as soon as possible.
